Nomad Girl

I'm just a girl trying to find her place in this world...which location that ends up being...only time will tell.

The working world

Well, I got a job yesterday!!! I will be a Customer Service Rep for Cingular Wireless. Good pay, great benefits, and lots of room for advancement. Plus it's a great way to meet people my own age. So, Tuesday after Labor Day I must venture back into the world of the working class. It's going to be weird considering I haven't had a job since the gift shop closed Memorial Day weekend. It will be nice though to have something to do during the days.

On a funny note, while I was doing my initial interview (filling out application on their computer and watching a Powerpoint presentation about the company), one of the guys also interviewing seriously tried to hit on me! I found it a little odd, considering the place and that we were in the middle of something, that he would pass me a note giving me his number...little weird if you ask me. A nice confidence booster going into the interview part, but other than that...no thanks.

It continues to be hot as heck here, but at this moment we are having some nasty storms that keep trying to knock out my power and it's rather annoying. I'm so excited though...tomorrow it is only going to be like 90 degrees out!!! It's the little things in life I tell ya.

Tuesday I am heading back up to Iowa for a little trip to see family and friends. I'm pretty excited to go with Rachel to her doctor's appointment...I thought after I moved I wouldn't get another chance to go with her. Plus Wednesday is my Mom's birthday so I thought that would make her happy if I made it back for that.

Well, that is about all in my life right now. I know it's not very exciting, but when you have done nothing but job hunt and sit around because it's too hot to go out, you find little things to entertain you. Guess that's not such a bad thing though, is it???
